At the intersection of artistry and practicality, The Yard House was born from a mother's quest for beautiful yet functional home solutions.

Founded by Indira Prashant, an accomplished Chemical Engineer from BITS Pilani, a Gold Medallist from XLRI Jamshedpur, and a former marketing professional at Colgate-Palmolive and Flipkart, The Yard House emerged from a simple yet persistent challenge: protecting beautiful hardwood tables while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing dining space.

As a decor-conscious mom of two young daughters, Indira found herself caught between preserving her cherished rosewood furniture and her love for elegant cotton table linens that seemed to deteriorate all too quickly under the joyful chaos of family life. She wanted a solution that didn't just protect her table, but also elevated the dining space—the social heart of every home.

Drawing inspiration from her experience with cloth diapering her children, Indira wondered why similar waterproof, fabric-like materials weren't available for table linens. This curiosity sparked a year-long journey of discovery and innovation. She travelled across multiple cities, collaborated with textile engineers, and developed countless prototypes in pursuit of the perfect solution.

After months of rigorous home testing and refinement, The Yard House's signature collection was born. The initial launch featured just 35 pieces across 7 carefully curated prints - a modest beginning that laid the foundation for something special. Today, five of those original prints continue to be our bestsellers, a testament to the timeless appeal of thoughtful design.

Today, The Yard House is an Indian brand of wipeable and anti-slip cotton table linen, thoughtfully designed for homes that value both style and practicality. Our patent-pending process transforms locally crafted cotton fabrics into functional, everyday essentials without compromising on their beauty.
