• Wiping Spills - Wipe clean with a wet sponge or towel immediately. Turmeric and curry stains tend to linger if allowed to soak in. Most other spills do not leave any stains even if they are not tended to right away. 
• Hot Vessels & Heat - Avoid placing hot vessels directly on the surface. While the tablelinen can withstand the heat, it will not insulate the table. 
• Air out your table occasionally - Allow your wooden table to breathe, remove the table cover and air it out every two weeks. This simple step helps preserve both the table and the table linen’s quality over time. 

• Washing & Shrinkage - If usage is heavy, wash by hand or machine with soap every three weeks and dry in the sun. Machine wash can be done in either a warm or cold setting. Hand Wash gently without vigorous scrubbing. Expect up to 2 - 5% shrinkage on woven cottons after the first machine wash. Please refer to our size guide when choosing your table cover size. 
• Ironing/Pressing - Creases & puckering can be ironed on dry cotton setting to flatten out. You don’t have to use very low heat. If the creases on the covers are stubborn, let it lay on the table for a day or two and they will settle.
• Do not Bleach/Dry clean - Do not use bleach or dry clean after washing, as they may impact the treatment & it fades the print away. 

• Haldi stain - Most household stains can be wiped off easily like ketchup, coffee, tea, etc. Chili oil, haldi spills, acrylic paints, and artificial coloring can be stubborn. 
• Here’s what to do if you have stains - Whenever there are spills, act immediately - the sooner you attend to it, the better the response to treatment. Wipe on the spot, carefully enough not to spread it around:

1. Leave a paste of baking soda + water or detergent for 10 mins & wipe clean.
2. Use hand sanitizer for 10 mins, then soak in vanish, before washing (after 2 cycles the effect is much better).
3. Use Pidilite "stain off" and soak in vanish before washing. Sun dry after washing. The stain will dull down over time.

• Edges - For light colours, on prolonged use, watch out for dirt accumulating along the edges where the fabric folds. On darker colours, you’ll notice light streaks along the edges. They disappear by wiping the edges regularly with a wet cloth and letting the table breathe once in a while.
• Performance over time - The special fabric finish is long-lasting. After around 15 machine washes, water resistance may reduce about 10% and then remains stable, while the anti-slip backing stays unaffected. Wipe spills promptly - liquids left sitting for too long may gradually seep through, as the fabric is breathable. To maintain the finish, wash only when needed. 

• Table cover - Follow the general care instructions above. Fold your table cover neatly and store it in a dry place. If the cover has absorbed moisture, ensure it is completely dry before folding or storing, as trapped moisture can lead to mildew. 
• Placemats - Follow the general care instructions above. Do not roll the placemats - store them flat in a cool, dry place. As a good practice, wash the entire set together to maintain uniform size and shape, and ensure they are completely dry before storing. 
• Table runners - Follow the general care instructions above. The runner can be folded or rolled for storage - store it in a cool, dry place and ensure it is completely dry before putting it away. 
• Napkins - Care: Our napkins are made of 100% cotton and are designed to absorb spills, so they are not spill-proof. They can be folded and ironed as needed. Wash with similar colours, avoid bleach and harsh scrubbing, and dry completely before folding and storing. Store in a clean, dry place to keep them fresh and ready to use. 

Waterproof fabrics prevent water from passing through, while water-resistant fabrics repel liquids for a period of time but are not completely impermeable. The Yard House table covers, runners, placemats etc. are water-resistant, not waterproof - spills can be wiped away, but liquids left sitting for too long may gradually seep through.
