1Q. Are your tablecloths waterproof?

No - our tablecloths are made from high-performance natural cotton. They are spill-resistant and wipeable, but they are not plastic-coated or 100% waterproof. Because it is natural cotton, the fabric remains breathable and soft. Simply wipe spills promptly and ensure the cloth is completely dry before storing. 

2Q. What size tablecloth do I need for my table?

To find your ideal size, measure your table's length and width (or diameter) and add 12 inches (30 cm) to both measurements. This ensures a comfortable 6 to 8-inch (15–20 cm) drop on all sides.

3Q. How do I measure my table for a tablecloth?

• Measure the length and width (or diameter) of your tabletop using a measuring tape.
• Choose your desired drop length. We recommend an everyday overhang of 6 to 8 inches (15–20 cm) per side.

4Q. Can I use a round tablecloth on a rectangular table (and vice versa)?

• Round on Rectangular/Square: Not recommended. A round tablecloth on a rectangular table results in uneven, awkward hangs - leaving the corners exposed while dangling too low on the sides.
• Rectangular/Square on Round: A square tablecloth can look beautifully styled on a round table, draping into pointed corners. However, for a tailored, symmetrical look, we recommend matching the tablecloth shape to your table shape (or using table runners and placemats for irregular shapes)

5Q. How do I stop my tablecloth from sliding or moving?

Traditional cloth and silk covers easily shift or slide off smooth glass and polished wood surfaces. At The Yard House, all our cotton tablecloths are finished with a specialized, non-toxic anti-slip backing. This keeps the cloth firmly anchored in place during meals - even when kids pull on it or hot dishes are passed around!

6Q. How do I choose the right tablecloth colour or print?

• For High-Traffic Daily Use & Families with Kids: Choose darker tones (like indigo, forest green, or charcoal) or busier, dense prints (like block prints). These are exceptionally forgiving of minor wear and mask accidental turmeric/haldi spills.
• For Festivities & Formal Gatherings: Light neutrals, soft pastels, or vibrant reds create an open, celebratory mood for dinner parties.
